Understanding the NDIS
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides eligible Australians with disability access to funding for reasonable and necessary supports related to their disability.
An NDIS plan is individual to the participant and may identify their goals, funded supports and how their funding is managed.
Depending on the participant’s plan, funding may be:
- NDIA managed
- Plan managed
- Self-managed
- Managed through a combination of these methods
The types of providers a participant can use may depend on how their funding is managed and applicable NDIS requirements.
RASAK CARE can discuss your support requirements and advise whether we are appropriately able to provide the requested service.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR NDIS PLAN
Your Plan, Your Goals
Your NDIS plan belongs to you.
Your plan may contain information about:
- Your circumstances
- Your goals
- The supports funded through your plan
- Your allocated funding
- How different funding components may be used
- How your plan is managed
- Allied health professionals
- Inclusion — Your culture, background and identity are respected.
- Improvement — We listen to feedback and look for ways to do better.
RASAK CARE encourages participants to understand their plan and ask questions where something is unclear.
Your Support Coordinator, Plan Manager, Local Area Coordinator, Early Childhood Partner, NDIA contact or other appropriate professional may also be able to help you understand your plan.
